IM Srinath Narayanan is one of those few players in India who consistently finishes in the upper echelons of the prize list in the various Indian tournaments. A few days back, he participated in the Resha International Open 2016 held at Nashik in Maharastra. He agreed to maintain a diary of sorts during the event and here are his entries, where he describes his day to day struggles as a professional chessplayer playing a tournament.

At the Hatsun Idhayam 2nd SCS Fide rating tournament held in Sivakasi, Saravana Krishnan was not the favourite to win the title. He started as the fifth seed with one GM and three IMs ahead of him. But such statistics didn't matter for the boy from Tamil Nadu, who played some scintillating chess to win the tournament with a score of 8.0/9. Ram S. Bharat Singh Chauhan is a noted International Organiser and the President of Delhi Chess Association. He is also the CEO of the All India Chess Federation (AICF), Deputy President of the Asian Chess Federation, Chairman of the Commonwealth Chess Association, and the Chairman of the FIDE Technical Commission.
