32 well-known comedians of India will fight it out in Comedians on Board 3

It's one of the most exciting events coming up! 19th, 20th and 21st of November will witness 32 of the most famous comedians in India take on each other in a knock-out tournament named Comedians on Board (COB) to decide who is the best chess player among them! This is the third edition of the event. With a prize fund of Rs 500,000 (6700 USD) and comedians having millions of followers taking part, this is sure to boost the viewership and following of the sport. The Queen's Gambit Episode 6 is titled 'Adjournment'. It is a term which we don't hear often these days because it is no longer used in tournaments. In fact it has been abolished for more than two decade ago. We get to see how a chess player is ready to stay at almost any condition, just to improve their game. A very good preparation does not necessarily guarantee a very good performance at the tournament. Strong players can also hit rock-bottom, they are also vulnerable just like any other human being. With Vidit Gujrathi presenting his flamboyant victory against the legendary Vladimir Kramnik, the all-new Grandmaster Chess series piloted with a cracker of a first episode last month. The second instalment of the show therefore only saw the interest snowball, as this time all the four comedians - Samay Raina, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Vaibhav Sethia, and Anirban Dasgupta - came thronging in to join the ever genial host Sagar Shah. The guest was IM Tania Sachdev, and the game she selected for the occasion was her win against WGM Swati Ghate from the 37th Indian Women's Championship, 2011.

Team India wins Silver at 2020 SCO National Chess Online Competition

Team India wins Silver at 2020 SCO National Chess Online Team Championship with a score of 14.0/18. The event was organized by Chess Management Center of the State General Administration of Sports on 26th and 27th September. Reigning National Triple Crown Champion and FIDE Online Olympiad Gold medalist Aravindh Chithambaram led the team from the front with an unbeaten 8.0/9, IM Ravi Teja S also remained unbeaten and scored 6.0/9. 16th Maheshwaranand Saraswati Memorial Online Blitz Open with ₹60000 prize fund

Buddhibal Kreeda Trust (BKT) under the mentorship of Prakash Kunte (father of GM Abhijit Kunte and WIM Mrunalini Kunte) has organized over 150 tournaments. After having three successful online events since April, they are be back with a bigger prize fund of ₹60000. The 16th edition of the tournament Shri Maheshwaranand Online Blitz Open will be held online. The tournament has the first prize of ₹15000. With rating category prizes and prizes for women, it's a tournament you cannot afford to miss. It will take place on Sunday 22nd of November at 6 p.m. IST in Vishy Anand Arena under ChessBase India room on Playchess. The Queen's Gambit - Episode 5 review

The Queen's Gambit Episode 5 is titled 'Fork'. We all know what 'Fork' in chess means. However this episode is not about the tactical theme 'Fork', it is more about Beth coming at a division of roads where there is no wrong choices but it is her who has to make the decision for herself. We get to see a lot of games in this episode starting with Smyslov-Botvinnik, Tal, Ivanchuk, Kramnik and David Baramidze's games. Beth plays a lot of Speed Chess against Benny which draws a huge crowd. Moreover we also get to know that Beth loves to analyze her games and study strong players games instead of solving positions. Tegernsee Masters 2020 R8: Leon makes a Fiery draw

Leon played fantastic against GM Alexander Fier. Despite being lost for the better part of the game, the Brazil no.3 somehow managed to save the day. Leon moved on to shared fifth position with 3.0/8. He will face Czech GM Thai Dai Van Nguyen in the final round today. GM Matthias Bluebaum and IM Daniel Dardha were the only two victors in Round 8. Bluebaum is now at 5.0/8, just a half point behind the tournament leader Alexander Donchenko. Luigi had a quiet draw with Nisipeanu in the penultimate round of the tournament. Tegernsee Masters 2020 R7: Donchenko inches closer towards victory

Alexander Donchenko took an almost unassailable lead when he beat Luigi in Round 7 to take his score to 5.5/7 in Tegernsee Masters 2020. He needs a win in the last two rounds to become a guaranteed champion, a draw in the final two rounds means, he can still win the event on tie-breaks. Fier scored his first victory of the event after scoring a victory over Germany no.1 Bluebaum by making a well-calculated bluff. Leon Mendonca Luke made a short draw with Parvanyan. His final two opponents in the tournament are - Fier and Thai Dai Van in Round 8 and 9 respectively. Photo: Official site

Blitz Challenge with Iniyan

Today, Friday, November 6, at 7:00 p.m. IST there will be another Blitz Challenge on Playchess. The player to beat is 18-year-old Iniyan Panneerselvam, who recently won the World Open, and played a 72-hour online Blitz Marathon to raise funds for the COVID crisis. The Playchess challenge games will be commented by host IM Sagar Shah, who will also be analyzing them with Iniyan afterwards. You too can play against him too, or simply watch and learn.

A week long chess tournament - Make Your Move Fundraiser Online Below 2100 Blitz tournament concluded with the participation of 167 players playing 881 games including a Simul against India no.3 and World no.25 Vidit Gujrathi. Total ₹115691 was raised through entry fee and donation which will be utilized to server the underprivileged kids. 11-year-old Ilamparthi dominated the Final as he scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win the Under-14 category, WFM Mounika Akshaya won the Under-19 category and Arunava Bhattacharjee won the Open category with a score of 7.0/9 each respectively.
